College didn't soothe the pain either. But a grief group showed me something talk therapy never had: the power of shared healing.
Around that same time, my mom — a spiritual seeker since the '80s — introduced me to a workshop where I discovered EFT. For the first time, healing didn't come from talking. It came from letting go.
That one weekend changed everything. I practiced obsessively. I relentlessly released stuck trauma, one layer at a time. I even healed a severe cat allergy — with just that one technique. It was the first proof I had that this work reached places talk therapy never could.
A year later, in a sweat lodge on an island near Niagara Falls, my hands suddenly activated with energy. A spontaneous Reiki awakening. Five years later, formal Reiki I training reactivated that same feeling — this time, with understanding.
Those experiences shaped the healer I became: someone who believes trauma can be released without reliving it, that healing is emotional and energetic, and that the body remembers how to rebalance when we give it the right tools.
